Watchlist Pro Not Working? Start Here
Work through this in order. The checks are arranged from most to least common cause, and the first one accounts for more reports than everything below it combined.
1. Check whether your subscription has expired
By far the most frequent reason Watchlist Pro “stops working” is that the paid time ran out. The app does not always say so plainly — content may simply refuse to open, or the library may look empty.
Open your account or profile screen in the app and look at the expiry date. If it has passed, or if you are past day 7 of the free trial, that is your answer: enter a new recharge code and it will come back. Prices are here.
2. Nothing plays, or the library is empty
Watchlist Pro is a player, not a content service — it shows whatever is in the cloud you connected. An empty or dead library usually means a cloud problem rather than an app problem.
- Go to the Cloud section and confirm a cloud is still listed and connected.
- If you added it from a link, the link may have expired or been changed at the source. Re-add it.
- If you connected your own storage, check the files are still inside a folder named
videoshareorvideouploadin the cloud root. Files moved out of that folder disappear from the app. - Remove the cloud and add it again. This forces a fresh scan.
3. Buffering, freezing or stuttering
Playback stalls come from bandwidth, the device, or the source file — in that order of likelihood.
- Test your actual speed on the device that is buffering, not on your phone next to it. A TV box on the far side of the house can be getting a fraction of what your router advertises.
- Move to 5 GHz Wi-Fi if your router offers it, or run an ethernet cable to the box. Ethernet fixes most TV-box buffering outright.
- Drop the playback quality. A 4K file needs sustained bandwidth; the same title at FHD often plays perfectly on a line that cannot hold 4K.
- Close background apps on the TV box. Cheap boxes run out of RAM quickly and playback is the first thing to suffer.
- Check the time of day. If it only stalls in the evening, it is contention on your line, not the app.
4. “Not connected”, server errors, or the app will not load at all
- Confirm other apps on the same device reach the internet. If nothing works, restart the router and the device.
- Force close Watchlist Pro and reopen it. On Android TV: Settings → Apps → Watchlist Pro → Force stop.
- Clear the app cache (not the data) from that same screen. This resolves most stuck-loading states without logging you out.
- Check the device clock. A device with the wrong date or time fails secure connections and produces confusing errors.
- If you are on a VPN, switch it off and try again.
5. Make sure you are on a current build
An old install can misbehave against current servers. If the app has been on the device a long time, uninstall and reinstall the current build — see downloads. Reinstalling does not consume your subscription; sign back in and your remaining time is intact.
6. Wrong device
Watchlist Pro is Android only. It does not run on iPhone or iPad, and it does not run on a Samsung smart TV, which uses Tizen — see the Samsung note.
