Watchlist Pro runs on Android. There is no iOS build and no web player, so getting started means installing the Android app on the device you want to watch on. This page covers where the app comes from, what each device needs, and what happens after the install.
Which download do I need?

The mobile build and the TV build are separate files. The TV build is laid out for a remote control — installing the phone build on a TV box technically works but leaves you poking at a touch interface with a d-pad, which is why we list them separately.

Why is it an APK and not a Play Store install?
The Android TV app is published on Google Play. The phone build is distributed as an APK file that you install yourself — a normal Android install, but Android will ask you to confirm it because the file did not come from the Play Store. Our installation guide walks through that prompt step by step.
What the app actually does
This is the part most download pages skip, and it is the part that decides whether Watchlist Pro is what you are looking for.
Watchlist Pro is a media player, not a content service. Out of the box it ships with the interface, the categories, the trailers and the watchlist tools — but no library. You connect a cloud to it, and the app reads that cloud and sorts what it finds into browsable categories with posters, descriptions and cast information.
It supports Mega and Redboxes cloud accounts, and it can also take a cloud link that someone shares with you. That second route is how most South African users start: you get a link, you paste it into the app once, and the library appears.
Practical consequences worth knowing before you install:
- There are no live TV channels and no live sport. Watchlist Pro is video on demand only — you pick a title and press play.
- Everything is ad-free. There are no interruptions mid-playback.
- You can browse on your phone and watch on your TV; the watchlist you build follows your profile.
- Playback quality goes up to 4K where the source file supports it.
Free for the first 7 days
The app gives you a 7-day trial with everything unlocked. After that you need a subscription, which in South Africa you buy as a prepaid recharge code — no card stored, nothing renews on its own.
Common questions before you install
Will it work on my Samsung TV? Only if it runs Android. Samsung's own TVs use Tizen, not Android, so the app cannot be installed on them directly — see the Samsung workaround.
Will it work on iPhone? No. Android only.
Do I need the cloud link before I install? No. Install first, start the trial, then add the cloud.
It installed but nothing plays. That is almost always a missing or expired cloud link rather than a broken app — see troubleshooting.
