How to Pay for Watchlist Pro in South Africa
Watchlist Pro in South Africa is sold as a prepaid recharge code. You buy the code here, it arrives by email, and you enter it in the app. Nothing is stored on file and nothing renews by itself.
What it costs
Three plans are available: 30 days for US$3.99, three months for US$11.89, and a full year for US$39.99. Full comparison and per-month maths on the price page.
Paying step by step
- Choose your plan and click Buy now.
- Fill in your name, phone number and email address. Check the email carefully — the code goes there and a typo means it goes to nobody.
- Click Submit Order. You are handed to our payment provider's secure page.
- Enter your card details there and confirm.
- Your code appears on screen as soon as the payment clears, and is emailed to you at the same time.
Your card details are entered on the payment provider's page, not on this site. We never see or store your card number.
If your payment is declined or times out
The most common cause in South Africa has nothing to do with your balance: most local banks block international card payments by default. We are charged in US dollars, so your bank treats it as an international transaction and stops it.
To fix it, open your banking app and look for a setting along the lines of international purchases, online purchases or internet transactions, and switch it on. The wording differs per bank — Capitec, FNB, Absa, Nedbank and Standard Bank all have it somewhere in the card settings. Some banks let you enable it for a limited window; that is enough.
Other reasons a payment fails:
- 3D Secure / OTP not completed. Your bank sends a one-time PIN and the payment waits for it. If the SMS is slow and the page expires, start again.
- The page was left open too long. Payment sessions expire. If you got distracted, go back and place the order again — nothing was charged.
- Daily online limit reached. Some accounts have a separate, low limit for internet purchases.
If a payment fails you are not charged. You can simply order again. If you see a pending amount that does not clear, it will fall off according to your bank's normal reversal period.
Currency
Prices are billed in US dollars. Your bank converts to rands at its rate on the day and may add its own conversion fee, so the exact figure on your statement will differ slightly from the dollar price shown here.
